Homeschooling with the Way Home Christian School
Our family began homeschooling when our oldest daughter was 6. The
biggest question we get is WHY? In the beginning it was not an idea that
Darren and I shared. We went so far as to enroll Kaitlin in first
grade. I struggled with sending her, but I also knew that if it were not a
decision we both shared it would never work. I had prayed during her time at
Wonderland Kindergarten and it went on to the day I was to take her to
school. Darren came to me the night before and told me not to take her. I
was so thankful that God had worked it out, not because of some great fear
of the school system but because it was a calling to trust him with our
children and their future. Homeschooling is a blessing in so many ways. We
have the opportunity to teach Gods word to our children and we have 24 hours
a day 7 days a week to spend with them. Our lives are a witness to all those
we come in contact with that there is a GOD ,his SPIRIT is still working and
GOD is always in control even when we don't know the why or how!
The next question always seems to be... Won't they miss out or be
socially deficient? In sharing these short pieces of our lives my only
comment would be.... decide for yourself after you take a peek into our
homelife! Do we get tired? YES. Do we make mistakes? YES. Do we question our
decision? Only when we lose sight of our calling and purpose. We hope that
by sharing with you, that you see only the God we serve and praise, and how
wonderful he is. Our children are Kaitlin 14, Courtney 12, Micah 10, and Sean 8.
All are homeschooled and have been from their first school year. Thanks for
allowing us to share and God Bless You.
